Mineral processing includes three processes of ore washing, crushing and beneficiation. In the process of enriching valuable metals from low-content, multi-metal symbiotic ores and processing them into concentrates with higher metal content, various types of collectors, frothers, inhibitors, flocculants, etc. need to be added. Most of them are toxic and harmful substances, such as cyanide, arsenide, dichromate, all kinds of alkyl xanthate, substituted phenol, aniline, pyridine, hydrocarbon, alkene, ether, ketone, aldehyde ester and so on. These substances enter the environment with the discharge of mineral processing wastewater or through tailings pond, and migrate and transform in water, atmosphere and soil, forming secondary pollution, causing serious pollution to the ecological environment.
There are two main types of mineral processing wastewater: mineral processing wastewater and ore washing and other wastewater, of which the gravity and magnetic separation wastewater in mineral processing wastewater is similar to the washing wastewater, which can be used after simple treatment. Therefore, the contaminated wastewater in the beneficiation process mainly refers to flotation wastewater, which comes from tailings, concentrate dense overflow water and concentrate filtrate. The characteristics of mineral processing wastewater are:(1) large amount of water;(2) the SS content in the wastewater is high, the particle size is very fine, and it is not easy to settle naturally;(3) there are many kinds of toxic and harmful pollutants;(4) most of them are in the water source, resulting in serious pollution consequences.
